Inn the Elms is a hidden treasure in the picturesque town of Pugwash. Be sure to call ahead, as they tend to be quite busy on summer weekends. The menu features delicious, home-style Atlantic cuisine, and the atmosphere is charming with friendly and attentive service. The prices are *very* reasonable, making it a delightful place for a lovely evening out. View all feedback.
While this is not gourmet eating, it is a great place to get very good food with a lovely attentive staff, very good prices and most of the fare is fresh. Some items tend to be overcooked, but it it likely so as this is common in the area. And they need to enhance the wine list as it is sparse. But, in short, I have been visiting this area for over 10 years and this is by far the best place to eat within 150 kms. Simple but well prepared fare with local foods and great personalised service in a lovely old restored home.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! I ate here as often as I could when I used to work in Pugwash. THe menu is always different, fresh, homemade meals, delicious signature touches by the couple who own the place and cook the meals. They are so genuine and so sweet to speak with, as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
A wonderful place to stay and a wonderful place for lunch. Their menus are always original and delicious and everything is local and homemade. Their desserts are to die for!! Plus the host and hostess are amazing people!! Well worth a visit!
It is always a pleasant experience to eat at Inn the Elms. This summer they have been open for dinner three evenings a week and we have gone several times. We always get great meals and friendly service. The owner-chef, Paul, knows how to cook...a perfect prime rib or steak. His fish entrees are excellent. I especially like the seafood crepes. His chicken dishes are always excellent as well. The dinners come with salad and some of them with potatoes or rice. You will not go away hungry. We do not have dessert often but his pies are very good. They are licensed and have a small but decent wine selection. Paul's wife, Jackie, is so friendly and does a great job to look after people, even when busy. Come fall Jackie and Paul will go back to serving breakfasts, lunches some days and Friday evening wings and dinner specials.
During my trip to Canada, I came across the most beautiful hotel with an abundance of stunning quilts. Jackie and Paul have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, paying close attention to every detail. The breakfast served was absolutely delightful, especially the delicious omelette.
