The Slow Rhode - Providence
The Slow Rhode
Description
Vibrant and unpretentious, this neighborhood gem delivers bold, diverse small plates, standout cocktails and a thoughtful beer and wine list. Polenta fries, duck drumettes and the fried chicken sandwich shine, and desserts steal the show. Warm, attentive service often makes it ideal for celebrations and group-sharing, though occasional timing hiccups and a curt bartender can temper the experience. Expect lively music and accessible seating — come ready to sample, share and savor.

The food was amazing and the vibes are excellent. Would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoyed the hot fried chicken sandwich, meatballs and focaccia, wedge salad, and the strawberry cucumber dish.
Music loud; food so-so; but waitstaff needs some fine-tuning. Waitress was pleasant enough, but bartender did not like anything that might actually serve customer needs.
Great diversity of flavors in food and beverage. A nice spectrum of cleanly presented cocktails, and a thoughtful curation of beer and wine. Menu presented great options for sharing. We ordered one of everything, and were presented hit after hit. Vegetable courses and the duck drumettes stole the show, but the entire menu left us excited to come back and revisit the bold and distinct flavors. Looking forward to dining at their sister restaurant, Broadway Bistro!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere! We had the beet salad, fish dip and polenta fries. All were amazing, but the mini matcha cheesecake was outrageous! Very fun, lively unpretentious atmosphere. Our server was so friendly and attentive! Definitely going back!
Apps Polenta fries were the best I’ve ever had. Nice crispy exterior and beautifully creamy inside. Well seasoned and you get the taste of jalepeño without the spiciness. As someone who makes their own plenty of fries at home, I highly recommend these! We also shared the ribs which were fall off the bone amazing! Sauce had a little kick and I appreciated the garnish with peanuts to provide some crunch!Overall, I think the apps were better than the entree and there were a lot more “small plates” to choose from.Entree my partner and I split the fried chicken sandwich and burger. Both of which were great sandwiches, meaty and well seasoned. Fries come on the side and had a nice seasoning on them.Service appetizers came out quick, no issues there. However, for the entrées, I was served my sandwich five minutes before my partner and was nearly done before he got his food. That’s really the only fault we can find!Key Takeaways: bring friends to go tapas style with all the amazing small plates appetizersingredients are high quality Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
