A quirky spot right next to a neighboring bar, The Avery is nestled in a residential area, making it a delightful surprise! The atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back, with a touch of nostalgic charm. What User doesn't like about The Avery:
If a zero star could be given.; I’d do so. The service from the female bartender there is horrible. Felt discriminated against from the very beginning with my shorter female friend; calling her a “child”! Ask for an ID; No problem! Call her a child! Then you definitely deserve less in tip. We had a wonderful time to list stories with Kelly and Billy. They made great drinks and we're happy to hang out with them tomorrow night.
Great staff, great atmosphere. Good prices! The interior had a very illuminated carved wood/tipeasy vibe with very competent bar staff who really bind the experience. While there is no food service, the beverage service is top notch! (Note, while the room is small, there would be room for your party.
Swanky stylish Federal Hill hot spot. Coming from Manhattan, it 's hard to find my people when visiting the fam in RI, but I walked in to the the Avery and was greated with kindness and sincerity. I absolutely loved the flora roja topped with hibiscus aloe shrub cracked Szechuan peppercorn vodka at its best!
This place needs to be showing up on national ‘best of’ lists. A really chill ambiance and nestled on a ridiculously picturesque square. Places like this are very few and far between.
Drinks only but they are amazing! Seriously. The St Avery Cosmo is perfection. Hubs had a mezcal drink that he loved. And the ambiance is of another time. No TV's, no screens, just a chill place to chat, drink, and enjoy the finer things. ETA: Stull great. Every time we go it's the best end to walking around Providence. Do yourself a favor and grab some tiramisu from Sicilias and the grab a seat at the Avery bar for a cocktail.
