Description

Tucked in Fox Point near Brown University, Aleppo Sweets is a cozy, beautifully decorated Syrian cafe that balances authentic, flavorful dishes with casual charm. Known for irresistible baklava, standout chicken shawarma, falafel, and vegan options (including occasional vegan baklava), it pairs savory plates with Turkish coffee, cardamom-ginger tea and house drinks. Friendly, welcoming staff, counter service, indoor and limited outdoor seating, and reasonable prices make it ideal for casual meals, study sessions, or relaxed gatherings.

The Chicken Shawarma was the best I've ever had—the flavor and crunch were simply mouth-watering! You can also find popular Syrian street food like Fatayer; I especially enjoyed the Za’atar spices mixed with olive oil, and the Aleppo Pepper editions. For meat lovers, I highly recommend the delicious Chicken Kabob, which comes in generous portions. And don’t miss the authentic Turkish coffee, served in a traditional container. Overall, if you're looking for a unique dining experience in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, make sure to stop by Aleppo Sweets in Rhode Island!

This is the best Syrian food I've experienced since moving to the US. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic food from a restaurant owned by refugees! Aleppo Sweet offers amazing dishes from Syria. We ordered a plate of knafeh yesterday and loved it so much that we had to try more of their menu. We enjoyed Turkish coffee alongside some fresh, fluffy fatayar bread—one filled with cheese and the other with lamb. We also couldn't resist ordering the juicy lamb kabob, which had a delightful hint of spice! We took home a few pieces of baklava and pistachio chocolate as well. Everything was delicious! Be sure to check them out!

Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Providence. If you haven?t been here yet, you?re missing out! Everything was delicious and the decor inside was beautiful. It does get busy and is first come first served. Highly recommend the ginger teawith cardamom, any kebabs, and the baklava! You?ll leave full and the price is very reasonable. Can?t wait to come back againsoon!

We went here as our last stop on a self-guided food tour of Providence. We wish we had gone here earlier to have more room for all the savory food! We got assorted baklava, cardamom ginger mint tea, and this incredible tamarind date drink. It was a Sundaynight and the place was packed, but rather than feeling overwhelming, it felt cozy and homey. Really well decorated, greatatmosphere, delicious food.
