The restaurant is average, but decent overall. It's one of three Chinese restaurants we frequent in the Prior Lake/Savage area, and it tends to be quite average. The food is consistently acceptable, though the service can be hit or miss. I recommend trying the chicken with the house sweet and sour sauce. What Elli Schwarz doesn't like about Fong's Restaurant Bar:
To start, I found hair in two of the containers. One was in the white rice, which was already undercooked, so it wasn’t a total loss before discovering the hair. The other hair was in the fried rice. The quality of the food was disappointing overall; the egg foo young was watery and lacking flavor, while the gravy tasted purely like starch and was bitter.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant when I lived here, so I decided to stop by for lunch today. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst and most flavorless Chinese food I've ever had. Additionally, the price was outrageous—$60 for lunch for two, and that didn’t even include any alcohol. Food: 1, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 3.
I had a wonderful experience with great food and friendly service. I ordered takeout for dinner, and it was priced around $20–30 per person. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5, and the service was equally impressive, also a 5. The atmosphere was excellent, receiving a score of 5 as well.
