Crossing Point Cafe - Prentice
Crossing Point Cafe
Description
At this roadside Price County diner, hearty comfort food and generous portions — standout burgers, corned beef and dependable breakfasts — sit alongside inconsistent service and quality control. Ample truck/RV parking and a broad, budget-friendly menu attract families and travelers, yet guests report cold dishes, missing utensils, curt management and limited hours. Takeout is often praised, though packaging can leave sides soggy. With steadier staffing and better customer handling, the longtime local favorite could easily reclaim its former shine.

The was absolutely delicious. I got the fried chicken sandwich and they put the pickles and the mayo on the side so you can put on however much you want. The service was good they were really nice and got my food out fast and fresh. The atmosphere is something you would expect from a sit down restaurant up north. Very chill, laid back restaurant. We ordered takeout for the 1st time tonight. The bacon cheeseburgers were a nice size and everyone really liked them! Kids meal had a nice size burger too. Good portions on the curds battered onion rings. We would definitely order burgers again. One thing tho...if you order the chicken fried steak, be prepared for it to be smothered in yellow chicken gravy...which I thought was odd. I've had chicken fried steak at probably 15 different restaurants in my life I have to say I've never had it served without the yummy country style sausage gravy. The chicken fried steak itself was good, but I was disappointed it didn't have sausage gravy on it like every chick fried steak I've ever had....that's why I ordered it. I probably won't order it again. I also didn't care for the cheesy broccoli soup that's just personal preference. It wasn't bad, but it was thin soup with some big woody pieces of broccoli in it that I had to spit out. I get I with frozen broccoli at home too tho...so not that big of a deal. But...when I think of cheesy broccoli soup, I like a good, THICK, creamy soup with smaller chunks of broccoli throughout. Besides that...everything was else was pretty good. We WILL order again though will try some more things. : The menu looks like it has a great variety!
