Having lived in Mexico for several years, the only thing that is not... read more While we do not visit El Tapitios when we are in Powell and want Mexican food, we are here. Having lived in Mexico for several years, the only thing that is not-authentic in this place is its use of Cheddar cheese. No other restaurant in Powell compares its service quality. Although the restaurant is always busy, they are quick to visit their customers and hardly make mistakes. The food is moderately good and for the price the portion sizes are large. The free chips homemade salsa is certainly a bonus.

Most of the time I get the grilled shrimp dinner which includes around 10 medium shrimp, refried beans, Spanish rice, grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce and tomato, and two tortillas all for only $14.95. When you first arrive you're greated with a smile since the family that owns and operates it are nice people. When you sit down they bring you water and a basket of freshly made corn chips with salsa. The salsa is liquidy but good and spicy. I've tried a few other dishes but the shrimp is my favorite.
