What Santiago Klocko dislikes about Osaka Soul Food:
This is really a second rate place, I live in the area and dine out most evenings. Potts Point is full of great Japanese restaurants, but this place has the worst service, a cook (I'm sure he calls himself a chef) who is an absolute...bully. The food is dry, over cooked, but it does have the service to match dreadful with attitude. You have been warned YUCK View all feedback.

Came here with a friend while looking for late nite food. This place had a huge menu. I'm not a sushi guy, but there was plenty on the menu including duck! Coming from the States, I had never seen such different food before from a sushi restaurant. Staff was very attentive but English is definitely not the first language. A little difficult to communicate but that was the only negative.

Conclusion: great Japanese in the Potts Point District with a really good quality from Osaka! Family life and business. A tip from Yelp that was highly rated last night drew my attention to this gem. The waitress and also the family - all with roots from Japan. The shop was a bit inconspicuous - and not very much visited in the evening in the rain in Sydney, brought me the full attention of the kitchen and service! It should have been fine with me ;-) The menu is well sorted, even if the names shouldn't necessarily mean something to an experienced sushi and Japanese cusine connoisseur. In the end, I got through the evening with an excellent Udon Soup (great fresh noodles!), A Teriaki Salmon as a starter, another intermediate course and as a finale with the signature food Osaka Duck, very good through the evening! An appealing and high quality was from the start Can be clearly felt and tasted until the end. But of course here too, at an Australian price that has it all. I know that quality has its price, but the $ 75 is a big deal. But that shouldn't be at the expense of business, that's the way it is here! If you want traditional Japanese cuisine, not dinner on the assembly line, this is the right place for you!

A friend and I stumbled upon this place as we were looking for a place to have a simple dinner in Kings Cross on a rainy evening. From the moment we entered we were treated so well...my friend was offered a basket for her handbag so it didn't have to sit on the ground, we were offered blankets for the cold...simple things but they add to the cuteness of the place. We were also treated to a delightful singer/guitarist playing soothing melodies. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was lovely. A great dining experience!

The food here was excellent--we had salmon sushi, hand rolls, and tried a Japanese specialty, a sort of Japanese pancake omelet thing, called Okonomiaki. Very nice! Wish we'd been in Sydney longer to try more Japanese specialties that are probably hard to find outside of Japan. One other great thing about this place is its location in an alley in Kings Cross. It's filled with open-air eateries, colorful lights, and has such a festive atmosphere! Highly recommend this place for food, service, and atmosphere.
