The atmosphere was very pleasant, the service was very nice but overwhelmed with the orders. We were asked several times when ordering whether it was correct, but we forgot our food and the children received their food last. The portions were okay but unfortunately the Bolognese was burnt and not edible. A pity! I shared this information with customer service but I doubt it was forwarded.
These kind of attraction restaurants are normally a bit disappointing and overpriced, but Restaurant Urwaldblick seems to buck this trend- the menu has lots of choice and the options we went for (flammkuche and currywurst) were really tasty and not overpriced at all. Service was fine, quick and friendly, and it was nice being able to watch all of the birds out on the balcony area.
Despite having a reservation, we weren 't on the list and were given an extra table outside (in front of the restaurant in the tropical hall, very warm for breakfast). After setting the table for four people, we only got three servings. Coffee was served, but we had to ask for milk/cream. We didn 't get salt or pepper either. The table wasn 't cleared in between. I lined up with my 7-year-old daughter after the restaurant opened to get first. The scrambled eggs were already gone, and it took forever to refill them. The natural yogurt was also gone and wasn 't refilled, even though there was still an hour and a half left for breakfast. There were four staff members on duty that day, and they failed to ensure the buffet was always stocked. There wasn 't even a single slice of cucumber, cold tomatoes, peppers, etc., which are part of a breakfast buffet, or a sweet dessert. Hot tomatoes were available, but they weren 't consumed that much. The juice selection also left much to be desired. A quick note on the biosphere: The hall was no longer what it actually was 20 years ago. There was a little discovery tour with an AI tour guide and audio headphones, an adventure trip, butterflies throughout the hall and not in a small cage /greenhouse. And the orchid exhibition was also a joke. Apart from a few large flowerpots being added to the palm trees, there was nothing else. Very sobering for a so-called exhibition. All in all, a disappointment.
Great atmosphere, but unfortunately the vegetarian breakfast was extremely poor. No cheese, no eggs, just cheap muesli, jam, and yogurt. Very disappointing.
We wanted a leisurely breakfast in a setting that looked promising online. There was only one slot left, so the location seemed to be in demand. Our destination was the Urwaldblick restaurant, or more precisely, the interior of the restaurant, where the breakfast buffet is set up. While guests from the outside area occasionally came in, they apparently wanted to eat there to enjoy the view of the jungle more. And that also explains why the tables sell out so quickly: There are simply only a few seats. That's certainly not a disadvantage, as it promises a cozy atmosphere as well as a touch of exclusivity. Unfortunately, the buffet is more than adequate for this number of guests. It's downright tiny, even if the selection, while not overwhelming, is certainly acceptable. However, a good selection is of no use if there is simply too little. But with a small buffet, this can be compensated for by regularly refilling. Unfortunately, that's exactly not the case here either. Quite the opposite: They seem to be striving to minimize waste after the event, if I want to interpret that positively. From my observations, it's truly standard practice to always respond to guests' suggestions first. And only then do they start preparing the food, which takes a while with relatively time-consuming dishes like scrambled eggs, even if the bowl isn't particularly large. So it's not surprising that particularly popular items were mostly empty, because I (like most other guests, I suppose) had to first learn that I had to actively announce that they were empty, even though a server was constantly bustling around the restaurant clearing the tables. By the time we'd learned how to behave, time was unfortunately already up, or our hunger had already been satisfied by the remaining food. This experience also applied to the pot of very weak filter coffee at the table. It was quite small, so it was clear that it would never be enough for four people. But even this pot, or another one, had to be proactively requested. Otherwise, there's nothing to complain about the service itself; everyone was friendly. Conclusion: For €30 per person, I expect more, especially since I've had much better buffets in hotels here for €20, which were also regularly refilled. The buffet is still impressive in terms of quality, especially when it's stocked.

Beautiful restaurant in the Biosphere Potsdam, even without a ticket to visit. small but fine card; you can sit in the tropical hall or in an extra room.
The ambience was very pleasant to the service very nice but overwhelmed with the orders. We were asked several times when ordering whether it would be correct to forget food the children have received their food as the last. The portions were fine but unfortunately the Bolognese was burned down and not edible. Shame! I told the service this info but I doubt that this was forwarded.
Service was good, location is really cool in winter under palms and tropics. Food: Gnocchi super milky super pommes with smoked sausages expensive, okay if even upper limit. Everything in Allem highly recommended.
