It is a beautiful art nouveau lunchroom. However, that it is the only thing which is majestic about it. Of course, the prices are very steep when you order anything in such a touristic place. But you expect that what you order is at least reasonable. It is not. We ordered two ice creams coupes (15 Euro’s each) who turned out to be the smallest tiniest sad looking ice creams I have ever seen in my life. Made with no love at all, at also with almost no ice cream. I complained about this scam and I indeed got a more normal one without any excuse. But, my wife did not get another one even though hers looked as miserable as mine. We thought this was extreme impolite. So, we went to the owner and after some translations we did not had to pay for the ice creams. We also saw that whatever you order, it lacks any investment in making the costumer happy. Our suggestion: make a picture out side and go somewhere else.
Some of the reviews on here are clearly from people that don’t appreciate what it costs to keep this amazing establishment as it is. Staff are great, and well presented in their uniforms. Breakfast was great. We came back for an evening drink. It’s a great experience. If you want to go cheap like others on here, go to McDonalds that’s where you should be, not here.
A well known cafe full of tourists. Come for the old building and atmosphere a place to watch and be seen. Mostly for tourists.
Lunch was pricey but enjoyable. I had the Chicken Caesar with a glass of wine as did my friend but with a Margarita. We had a table in the back which was quieter and an efficient waiter. We returned another day for afternoon tea and not so enjoyable as sat at the front of the restaurant and very noisy. The 3 tiered tea selection was well put together but we found we could have shared one between us as ended up taking quite a bit back to the hotel. So for €70 plus tip found it a bit over the top due to the very noisy atmosphere. Not how we usually enjoy afternoon tea. That said the restaurant decor is lovely and takes you back to another era which is why it is on the must do tourist list.
