We are on our honeymoon, and the staff at Tasco made the ex... read more My wife and I came here upon a recommendation from our hotel staff for our first dinner in Portugal. We are on our honeymoon, and the staff at Tasco made the experience incredibly personal and memorable. We had Catarina as our host, and she provided excellent recommendations and service while being incredibly personable and authentic. We had the Nazare, the Startaro (beef tartar), the Senhor Polvo (octopus), and the Lombo (beef tenderloin), followed by a half serving of Shakespeare (cheesecake) and Anti-Depressivo. The Nazare, tartar, and octopus were all big standouts, but the Lombo feels like something you could get at any nice restaurant that serves quality beef dishes (it was still a great dish though). Both desserts were excellent, but the cheesecake is made with goats cheese and it has a STRONG cheese flavor. The dinner ended with a very special complimentary espresso martini that Catarina provided and shared a story with. It was a very special and memorable event. Honestly, this restaurant is a must try for those that want a unique experience with modern cooking techniques and flavors with a Portuguese foundation. I can't recommend it enough.
