Nice location, average sushi, quite popular place, but VERY strange service. We came here for a weekend dinner and the restaurant was full of people. We've ordered one big sushi set for two and a bottle of wine. When the set was more than half eaten but we were still drinking and talking), two different waiters came TWO times and asked if we finished or not. It seemed to me that they wanted to welcome other guests an... View all feedback.
Be there for the second time and it is now my favorite sushi restaurant in the area. It is somewhat more expensive than some restaurants near Douro, but the quality is excellent. The service is always good as expected and the view over the river makes your lunch / dinner even better. If you are looking for a good sushi place in Porto, Gull is where you should go.
Best sushi house in town!
Great sushi. They won't be disappointed. The service was friendly and fast. Everyone spoke English. Good music. Nice ambience. On a terrace overlooking the water.
One of the best sushi in Porto! The terrace is wonderful when the weather allows and the service is good, although a bit slow, but not atypical for a sushi place. Definitely worth the visit
In short, Gull is a chic sushi restaurant. Overall we liked our dinner. The restaurant is well located on the river side. The decor inside is minimalist, quite chic. The service is quick and very professional. All that makes a very enjoyable atmosphere. On the food side, the menu is classic, with a few originals (gunkan of foie gras for example . The wine list is not long, but with good bottles. Now the thing is that we had mixed feelings about the sushis. The taste of the rice was quite sweet. It 's was quite powerful and was hiding the taste of some of the fishes. The fishes were good, but the tuna was unusually soft with no bite to it. Finally the soy sauce was clearly a mix between soy sauce and something else, probably rice vinegar or mirin. It 's was not bad, but not very nice neither. For the prices 44€, for a mix of 42 pieces of sushi is a good price. The starters (tataki of tuna for 12€ and the wine (glass between 3,75 and 5,75€ are slightly on the expensive side.
