If your looking for excellent home cooked meals, this is it! We have been in Portugal for almost 2 years, and find eating out challenging to find a good meal. Service is quick and very friendly. Espalha Brasas is only open mid day 12-3pm (12-15:00hr) I would go after 1pm, it's less busy Se procura excelentes refeições caseiras cozinhadas em casa, é isto! Estamos em Portugal há quase 2 anos, e descobrimos que comer em Portugal é um desafio para encontrar uma boa refeição. This review is for the dom brasas in valongo. ta (trip advisor) makes it almost impossible to enter a new location for the same franchise into the system. this is a purely medium area for local families. the place is clean and refilled after...8:00 clock and has a fine menu and a good kitchen and is fast despite the family crowds. that was great. the locals eat here. - Yes, old one.

What a great local place! Family of 4 with our bags and we were seated immediately and the very nice staff helped to translate every thing, since we know ZERO Portuguese. Tripas and beans, 2x roasted chicken with fries, and a whole roasted sea bass with legumes. Plus two soft drinks and two pitchers of wine. Plus 3 desserts and a coffee. All for 38 Euros?! Unbelievably good price/quality, excellent service, and lovely comfort food. Will return again!!
