Contribute FeedbackWe discovered this place thanks to the bad weather, closet option for eating outside the hotel. The outside appearance gave the closed look. On entering you are greeted by a small bar and two seats and a table but when you say that you want to eat they usher you through to a small but quaint restaurant, very clean and tidy. This is a family run business, the attention you get is second to none. The traditional food is absolutely fabulous, ham, cheese board, small fish cakes and then the pork and rice. They have plenty of puddings available if you can fit it in. We also had a bottle of wine “Dona Cepa Douro”, complimented the meal to a tee. We also had the local port and brandy. We visited this little gem three times in a week all at different times, lunchtime, afternoon and evening. Every meal can only be described as excellent. For those who read this and venture into it, you just need to say “can we taste your traditional food”, we did and were not disappointed. Be prepared to come out a little heavier and a belt notch moved on. It will not damage your pockets either. We hope to return in the future
Very nice family lunch. Excellent food and fantastic service. We loved it! The entrees were very good. Later we ordered fish and it was very fresh (fish in Portugal is great). Then a meat on the coals, crackling. Homemade desserts and excellent coffee!
Comida casera, sin tonterías, espectacular. El dueño un tienen parrilla y te explican todo en español, todo un descubrimiento.
Logerend in palacio do freixo is dit minuten stappen. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door een goed engels sprekende medewerker. de kok deed er alles aan om het ons zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. we hebben er heerlijk gegeten en kunnen dit aan iedereen aanbevelen.
This was the best find in Porto. Very affordable compared to UK/London prices. Fresh and I believe family run. Do not underestimate the place by the interiors it's amazing. We spent less than €45 on 2 occasions. Their prosciutto best ever had.
