Frankie's Pizzaria - Portage

I had the Gyro. I had the meatball sandwich. I had the work of pizza. I loved them all! Great little place in portage. Probably the best pizza in Portage now where I think about it. I wish I lived closer, I would definitely use the delivery and eat more often from here.

Stopped in when they opened so I was able to get a slice right out of the oven! Thin chewy crust with plenty of cheese. I had sausage and mushroom and didn't feel that they skimp on adding the toppings. Besides pizza there are salads, sandwiches, wraps, gyros and a kids menu. The is a nice seating area as well. I will return to try something else on the menu.

I had a wonderful experience at Sal's. I ordered a medium Sal's Special with added banana whips, and I was really impressed by the crust; it had a nice chewiness without being overly thick. It's impressive how well they manage to support so many toppings on the pizza. Given the style of the crust, I was honestly surprised that it wasn't offered in a tavern cut—though that’s just my personal preference, not a complaint. It would have paired perfectly with a beer, and it provided the kindness and comfort I was looking for.

This is an excellent spot to enjoy a quick slice of pizza and a garlic knot. You can also opt for a whole pizza, a pasta dish, or a salad if you prefer!

We ordered pizza by the slice, tried a few different variations: sausage/pepperoni, gyro, spinach...all were foldable and delicious.
