What Brannon Herman doesn't like about The Wild Goose:
Service was spotty, with infrequent checking. Ordered a steak and it was served room temperature. When I flagged down our server she took the steak back. 15 minutes later it was returned only a few degrees hotter. Ten minutes later when the server checked and asked how the steak was I told her. Delicious, delicious, nice food. There it is stuffed! There were 5 of us who shared 3 apps and then each had our own entrées. On the menu there was too much delicious sounding food. It's hard to decide. Was in a steak mood, so went with fillet mignon. Like butter in my mouth! So much different to choose. Can the next time try the simple Lobster Cobb Salat!? Not a very big room, but on a Tuesday night we were comfortable and fine among the other customers. Definitely repeat!!! ?
One of the best restaurants on Long Island. I've never been thrilled with the service eating. Always busy. make reservations. Wide range of options and they are all excellent.
All we got was pretty delicious! The staff was so beautiful. And the ambience was great. I'm looking forward to going back!
Usually I can't say enough good things, but last Sunday my wife and I had both linguins and white mussel sauce. Because we were with another couple, we didn't complain, but both dishes were incredibly salty where we couldn't finish. Really bad. I'm sorry. Maybe we'll try again.
As some yelp reviewers posted, serving staff disorganized. They kept delivering other customers orders to our table. My sweet potato fries came out burnt.
