What User doesn't like about Taplow Pub:
I enjoyed the food here and received excellent service from our waiter. The reason for the 1 star rating... the administration collects a TWENTY percentage service fee for itself so that we tap twice so that the server does not suffer. I was shocked when our server mentioned this at the end of the meal. Even if the menu clearly says that you are not necessary to leave a bliss, their employees expect it. I won't be ba... The Pot Roast Double Bone Center Cut Pork Chot is incredible bursting with taste....
We went there last night and even though they lost power (because of a flash) the cook and our waitress (Nicki) were most accommodating. They made what could have been a catastrophe of an evening, one of the most pleasant dinners we had eight.
Walked in at 6:10pm happy hour ended at 6:00pm, I was unaware of that. Manager insisted on charging me $11.56 for a shot of house bourbon. Yes this was tonight. Could have said, ok no big big, we appreciate your business during these difficult Covid times, its close to happy hour, the charge will be happy hour price $3.50. Poor business practice, they lost me as a customer, NEVER going back..
Stopped here after a game of golf for s beer and a burger. Pleasant experience until we checked out and got scammed by our bartender who told us that she got none of the 20% gratuity/service charge on the bill. Lied directly to my face while looking me in the eyes. Never again would I patronize this place. Fool me once, shame on you .......
