As a result, her famil... read more Well, this is awkward...hahaI arrived in Popayán to meet one person, and as a result I met her entire beautiful Colombian family instead. As a result, her family took me to "Pikando Restaurante".In the spirit of full disclosure, the person I was meeting was the niece of the restaurant owner. But in no way should you discount this review based on this information. I am an honest person, and if this place was ****, I would say so!!! It is NOT!!I cannot fault Pikando Restaurante!! (no bias intended)The place is clean, tidy, and the food is just awesome!! The staff are pleasant, but in fairness to this review, we were served mainly by the owner!! hahaThe food - OH MY GOD!!!! It was delicious. Please do not make me elaborate on that, it was worth the money :)Now.....this needs to be said. The restaurant is unfortunately a fair way out of the city (Popayán) and it will require a taxi ride (or if you are smart, a moto-taxi, they cost less), but it is seriously worth it!!! The food was that good I would have happily WALKED that far!!I was going to return and take my friend out for dinner, but sadly they are closed on Mondays and I missed out....that truly sucks!! (My plans were shattered!! grrrrrr)Either way, they are open from Tuesday to Sunday, (festivals included) 11:00am. to 7:00pm.I need to make a special comment to the backpackers out there! Yes, I get the fact that you guys are on a budget, but let's face reality....the Western Dollar is much better than the Colombian Peso........suck it up people, pay for the moto-taxi and visit this place!!! It is well worth the money and it is probably a better restaurant than you would find back home....if you need a time to splurge whilst on your trip, this would be it!!! And I cannot stress this point enough, I am not being biased......I am VERY disappointed that I could not go back!!!!!! It is devastating that the ONE day they were closed was the ONE day I had freeWould I go back if I returned to Popayán?? Oh, hell yeah! Enough said!

As a result, her family brought me to Pikando Restaurante . For the purpose of full disclosure, the person I met was the niece of the restaurant owner. But in no way should you review this based on this information. I am an honest person, and if this place was ****, I would say that!!! It's NOT! I can't blame Pikando Restaurante!!
