For the first time in two years, we dined at this restaurant and were very impressed by the great service and delicious food. It's nice to have another dining option in Pooler, as there have been few new additions in recent years. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
My wife called ahead to inquire about the wait time at the restaurant. The staff member assured her there was no wait. However, when we arrived just 3 minutes later and asked for a table for two, we were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Despite there being numerous empty tables in the restaurant, the employee insisted on the wait time. We decided to leave and found this to be unusual as we have always received good service at Applebee's in the past. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day.
This was the worst experience ever! We drove past Beaufort, SC after Pooler and had to wait 30 minutes for a table because they were short staffed. Then, we were forced to sit at a high table to accommodate my family, even though we have 2 small children and the seats were uncomfortable. After finally being seated, we waited 10 minutes for a server to take our order. When we placed our orders, the server returned to inform us that they couldn't serve us steaks because they were all frozen. I will never go back! Despite my love for Applebee's, this experience has turned me off.
The all-you-can-eat special was abundant, delicious, and offered at a great value. The riblets stood out as a favorite, especially when paired with the honey BBQ sauce!
