We decided to give it another chance with friends on Friday night, and we were pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the food quality. All of the courses were excellent and well-presented like they used to be. It was also great to see Lou, the former bistro manager, back working at Salterns.

However, this year... read more We booked our Christmas dinner here. We were looking forward to it for months, as we 'd been before and the service and meal was exceptional. However, this year we were disappointed as the main meal was 'warm '. It didn 't resemble your traditional Christmas meal. The only veg we had was sprouts and they were hard). I found out afterwards that the carrots and parsnips were pureed into a sauce which run into the gravy. There was no 'pigs in blankets ', just a couple of tiny chipolates. The roast potatoes were cut into small chunks and most of them were burnt. Overall, we were very disappointed especially at the prices we paid £79ph). To finish it off our coffee was luke warm and we had to ask for hot water. We will never eat there again for Christmas, such a shame compared to our previous visit.
