We had a wonderful experience at Amandas on Friday night, especially thanks to our amazing waitress Tiara. Service went above and beyond.Food was divine, everyone enjoyed everything! Some favourites were the Scallops, Lamb special and the gnocchi. Price is reasonable for the area and the quality especially as they let you BYO. View all feedback.

What Eric Guajardo dislikes about Amanda's on the Edge:
Amanda's was recommended to us for a great place to eat especially as we were vegetarian and they had a good menu. The starters were great, fresh and a good portion, the main (tofu curry) was ok, way too spicy for my husband. Downsides were you gas to pay $2.50 for a measly bread roll, unheard of! The service was slow and reactive with little or no interest in the guests. Food took over 70 minutes as well.Would never... View all feedback.

I had heard great things and Amanda's definitely didn't disappoint. We went with a large family group and everyone's meals were outstanding. Only negative was that it's a 2 course minimum on Sat eve, which given the size of the portions it was a challenge...More

We have been coming to Amanda's over the last 9 years, whenever we come to the Hunter. This time with two small children for lunch as a romantic dinner seemed a bit of a stretch. Not a problem with kids though. Highchairs, colouring in kids menu and seating away from the main area so as not to disturb other guests was all considered. We were able to have our long leisurely lunch with wine whilst the kids ate their fish and chips. Coffee was outside in the garden, running around in the sheltered side of the building on an otherwise very windy day. Food was excellent as always, service friendly, and yes, we will return.

Unfortunately this was a big disappointment after reading good TA reviews. The service was poor; 35 minutes for bread to arrive and one drink never made it at all. Food is fine but not special. Prawn starter and chicken main particularly flavourless. We also found a small sharp clear piece of plastic in the food. Given all this you come away feeling it is markedly overpriced. Starters at $20-25 and mains $35-40 with a two course minimum adds up to a premium price (c.$150/couple) for an average experience.

Worth a visit of this amazing restaurant. Believe it would be better at luck time, the view is expect to match the food as well.
