Roasted duck was not evenly marinated and was served cold. It seemed to be the leftover from yesterday. The soy sauce chicken was not cooked enough and it has a layer of meat on the bone that was still not edible. The checkout lady was rude and impatient. This restaurant isn't worth the wait. The barbecue is just mediocre, and any line you encounter isn't due to its popularity but rather the slow service. Now, regarding the food itself, there have been several occasions where they've served yesterday's roast duck as if it were fresh; you can easily tell by the color and texture of the meat. Their braised duck is frequently yesterday's as well. It's quite irresponsible how they reuse food from the day before.
When we tried to choose the duck we wanted, he curtly told us, “No picking duck.” We accepted this at first, but a few minutes later, he simply handed us a duck in a box. We were confused about where that duck came from, as we hadn’t heard any chopping sounds or seen any ducks being taken down from the display. It felt like we were being taken advantage of! To make matters worse, the duck was surprisingly light. We asked why he didn’t give us one of the ducks that were clearly on display in the window, and he defensively replied that we didn’t have to buy it. We decided to return the duck and won’t be coming back, regardless of how good the food might be! These people need to realize they are running a business in the U.S., not China. Being rude is simply unacceptable!
This restaurant offers genuine Cantonese BBQ along with true Cantonese hospitality. I decided to try the Chaozhou marinated (or braised) duck, as it's quite rare to find a good one. The duck was juicy and tender, with meat that was bursting with flavor. There was a bit of a wait, so I placed my order while enjoying a bowl of beef noodle soup at Bandao.
This $11.95 dish consists entirely of one breast worth of chicken. And my daughter's soup had a dead bug. ?Food: 1/5
