Was Anonym at Range Life a mag?
This trendy, modern restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and drinks. We enjoyed an early dinner in the interior space, having made our reservations online prior to our visit. Every dish we ordered was fantastic, and the drinks were flavorful and potent—definitely not watered down. The decor was simple yet striking, both in the dining area and the restroom. The staff were attentive and... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Range Life:
My wife and I have come to Range Life on several occasions including our anniversary, Mother's Day, and her birthday. Service, food, and management were much below expectations during all of these visits. We frequent many restaurants in the Bay Area and were very surprised Range Life did not live up to our expectations. We continued to give it a chance, hoping the first few times were off and it is near our favorite... View all feedback.
Best restaurant in Livermore by far. They just make great food.Food: 5/5
We started with the feral heart snow peas and Korean radish appetizer, which was quite disappointing and did not justify its cost, as the flavors did not harmonize. The second appetizer, beef tartare, was better, but the fried shallots overwhelmed the dish. For our entrées, we ordered the gusanito beans and roasted chicken. Both were decent but lacked any unique or exciting flavors and combinations. Additionally, the chicken portion was quite large, which affected our overall dining experience. The dessert—milk and honey ice cream with honeycomb—was delightful, but unfortunately, the honeycomb was burnt. When we mentioned this to our server, she insisted it was intentional, but in my experience, honeycomb shouldn’t taste like that. Compared to other Bib Gourmand establishments, Range Life falls short. During our visit, we noticed several areas for improvement among the staff to enhance the guest experience. A unified dress code would contribute to a more professional ambiance, clearer and louder communication at our table would help, and staff should be more knowledgeable about the wine list to offer recommendations based on our preferences. Additionally, they should ensure that no cork residue is left on glasses after serving wine. It felt odd to have our bill placed on the table without any acknowledgment. A simple question about whether we wanted any more food or drinks would have made us feel more appreciated as customers. Edit: If expectations are set appropriately, I would rate this place one star higher. In the end, it is indeed one of the nicer options for decent food in the Livermore area.
My wife and I have come to Range Life on several occasions including our anniversary, Mother's Day, and her birthday. Service, food, and management were much below expectations during all of these visits. We frequent many restaurants in the Bay Area and were very surprised Range Life did not live up to our expectations. We continued to give it a chance, hoping the first few times were off and it is near our favorite Livermore winery but we will not be going again. For the price it is not worth the unkind service and so-so quality food. I would not recommend. There are many other nicer restaurants in the area.
This was an exceptional visit. The food was as good as any fancy restaurant I have been to world-over. The rabbit starter was beyond a dream and the halibut dish was superb.Food: 5/5
My wife and I visited Range Life for the first time last week, knowing that it had received rave reviews. It didn't disappoint. I had the Ham Chop, which came with cherries as a great accompaniment. My wife had the halibut, which was both delicately flavored and nicely seared. The building looks historic i.e. a detached brick structure. I write this since the building's size and age adds to the ambience of the place. They have a pretty extensive wine list and several interesting local beers, both of which we sampled to accompany our food.Shout-out to our wait person (Kendall), who was very attentive but not overbearing. We'll definitely be back!Parking: Livermore downtown parking is right across the street from the restaurant.
