Peking China Buffet - Plainfield
Peking China Buffet
Description
This local eatery, recently relocated from Los Angeles, presents a polarizing dining experience. Patrons have expressed disappointment over overpriced meals, poorly cooked rice, and unappetizing vegetables, with some even encountering hygiene issues. The service, though respectful, suffers from being short-staffed, leading to long waits and incorrect orders. While many lament the lack of quality compared to other buffets, a few acknowledge the family-run atmosphere and commend the food’s potential. Ultimately, the restaurant's aging appearance and inconsistent offerings suggest a need for improvement to meet diners' expectations.

Great buffet! It's not necessarily top-notch, but it’s definitely huge. There are plenty of options to choose from. If you love crab legs, though, I have to warn you—stay away from them here. They cook them and then leave them out all day, resulting in bland flavors, tough shells, and they’re often soggy. Quite disappointing. However, overall, for under $7 for lunch, you can find a variety of tasty dishes, including freshly fried items made to order.
Delicious Chinese cuisine with a variety of options! This expansive buffet offers an impressive selection, far beyond the usual two serving stations, and features a fantastic sushi assortment. I always enjoy the lobster with cheese, as well as my California rolls, complemented by plenty of delicious sides. I'm fond of this place and believe it offers great Chinese food at a reasonable price. Although I've since moved north and likely won’t make the trip for it, it's definitely worth it if you're in the area and seeking an extensive selection of quality Chinese dishes.
I took my two grandsons to eat and spent $60 on our meal. I was really disappointed because the rice wasn’t even cooked properly, and the vegetables seemed like they had been sitting out for days. I ordered sweet tea, but the server brought me unsweetened tea instead, saying I could add sugar to it. Everyone knows that tea should be served cold, but it wasn’t. Overall, I was very disappointed, and they didn’t even have any Pepsi.
I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. The service was terrible, the prices were exorbitant, and the owner was rude. I strongly advise against visiting this place. The food was stale and unappetizing, and to make matters worse, the owner got into a confrontation with a customer due to the lack of food available. Overall, both the food and service were severely lacking. Spending $38 for two plates that were missing key items and tasted awful is just unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this restaurant!
