La Margherita Pizzeria

We attempted to dine at this restaurant four times during our stay in Grand Gaube, but we only managed to enjoy pizza once! On our first visit at 2 PM for a takeaway, we learned that we could only order pizza if we paid in cash. The second time, we arrived at 12:30 PM for lunch and discovered they weren't opening until 6 PM, despite their listing on Google stating they were open (the owner had also mentioned they were open for lunch every day?). On our third attempt, we finally got a pizza, which was quite good and reasonably priced. However, during our fourth visit, we were told they had run out of pizza dough. It's a restaurant that serves only pizza—how can they run out of dough? Consequently, I can't recommend this place since there's no guarantee you'll be served or that they'll be open. It's truly disappointing.

The experience could have been better, especially since it was more enjoyable in the past. The service and atmosphere fell short, and unfortunately, the tomato sauce on the pizza was disappointing. It's a pity, as the toppings and crust were excellent. Overall, the meal turned out to be average. I would suggest reassessing the organization to make improvements.

This restaurant is a big disappointment. I recommend avoiding it as it will waste your time. We arrived at 6 PM to order pizza for takeout, but the staff asked us to come back at 7 PM. When we returned just five minutes later and were ready to place our order, we were told we would have to wait another hour and 45 minutes. This was quite a surprise, especially since the pizzeria wasn’t busy at all. There must be some serious issues with this business if they can’t prepare a pizza in 20 minutes. We do not recommend this place; instead, try Italian Pizza da Mario, where you'll find excellent service and delicious pizza.

First Timer. Finally went there after passing by for years.. Called for reservation and everything went ok, they had the table ready upon arrival. The staffs were friendly and welcoming, but a bit unattentive, totally understandable as it was peak hour. Atmosphere very cosy and chill, Food was awesome and very good, authentic tastes. and they use a wood oven Would surely visit again #recommended

Excellent pizza, the dough is really good. We also took on TA and it was great even a day after. Wanted burrata on the pizza, but they were out of burrata Service not very good though, but that’s “normal” unfortunately in Mauritius and you have to work with what you have. Can’t really blame the owner for that. Almost all restaurants are suffering from this problem. Overall, we will definitely come back. The pizzas are worth it BIG TIME!
