harold hotel - Placentia

This hotel is very outdated. Carpet in rooms smell and should be removed. Had several rooms rented for a wedding and the carpet was the same in them all. Rooms very small too.

It was one of the few places where my wife and I could get a fresh salad as a main course. We dined there twice; on the second occasion, we tried their steak. It was prepared well and to our taste. The only problem was it was too greasy for our palates. Next time I would omit the mushroom and onions (the main cause of the greasiness). The offered a passable red house wine, but with limited choice.

My husband's pan-fried cod was delicious. I had grilled scallops that were also very good and tender. Meals came with mixed veggies ans choice of fried, bakes or mashed potatoes.

A very clean and lots of room restaurant. Food is excellent. The service is great and the staff is very friendly.

I stayed here on business for 2 nights due to convenience of location and previous good experiences at this hotel. Yes , it's an older accomodation but it is clean , tidy and convenient. The service was excellent. The food was delicious , home cook style and prices very reasonable. My compliments go to the servers and management for their friendliness , courtesy and efficiency.I'd recommend it to anyone.
