The menu is described as limited, but well-executed, with standout items like the focaccia and herbed butter starter. Overall, opinions on The Commoner vary, with some diners planning to return for the excellent service and delicious food, while others advise looking elsewhere for a more satisfying dining experience.
Had breakfast. The restaurant was very quiet. Food, service and ambience were great.
Food is hit-or-miss. Brussels sprouts appetizer was quite good. The cavatelli entree was very bland. The bar is nice and has a good selection.
Excellent service and a nice small menu that changes up a bit but seems to always have at least one vegetarian options. The mushroom barley risotto was fabulous and a unique spin on a risotto.
If you’re in town and looking for a cool dining experience check out the Commoner. There is a post industrial vibe with the huge exposed metal support’s in the restaurant. The bar is expansive and there is plenty of seating. The menu is somewhatlimited but there is something on the menu for everyone. We had a wait reservation for Saturday brunch, make an actualreservation if you can. We only had to wait 10 minutes or so to be seated. The food was very good, our waitress did a nice jobof taking care of us, worth the effort.
I have to start saying that we didn’t have a great experience the first time we were here, and we spoke to the manager Justin and he was beyond professional and apologetic and asked us for a second chance to really enjoy The Commoner. We came for brunchtoday and I’m amazed. The food was outstanding, service was great. We will be coming here often!!! Justin and Mika areexceptional managers. PS: the steak is fascinating! You wont regret it!
