The food at this restaurant was excellent! The pork belly and crab cavatelli were outstanding. The focaccia, caesar salad, and cheesecake custard were also very tasty. For breakfast, the steak and eggs were the best I have ever had!

Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with a welcoming staff. It was the perfect spot to escape the chaos of the cultural district before heading to a play.

We enjoyed our brunch at The Commoner before the Penguin game on Sunday. I had the prosciutto fontina omelet and a bowl of berries. My husband ordered the Pork Belly Eggs and also a Caesar Salad. Everything was very good but the potatoes were outstanding! They were Yukon Golds and they were cooked to perfection! I could have eaten a bowl of those. So delicious.

Phenomenal dinner! Great look to the whole place. Had a very good beer and the house Old Fashioned was fantastic. The beets as a appetizer were very good. Loved the yogurt touch, as well as the fresh berries. The pork chop was pounded, breaded and fried, served on thinly sliced Brussels sprouts, tossed with dried fruits. A mustard sauce on the chop was great. Service at the barcould not have been better. I frequently come to Pittsburgh on business and will return. Kyle was my bartender. Excellent job.

QUICK FYI THE BEST WAY TO GET A TABLE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT BOOKING AHEAD OF TIME. We could NOT have been happier with this food. It had a stunning amount of personality to it. Tyler did a great job serving us he was kind, accommodating, andunderstanding. I’ve heard that other hotels especially fancier ones like the Kimpton already have the food made and do notaccommodate for preferences in meal prep (for example requesting a burger WITHOUT cheese), but this hotel does NOT follow thatrule in their signature restaurant. My girlfriend was able to get mac n cheese without the breadcrumbs on top no problem. I gotthe roasted chicken and we ordered shoestring fries. I’ll include thoughts and details on each menu item in photo captions, but the atmosphere was beautiful.
