Local Craft Kitchen - Pittsburgh

Definitely glad that I stopped here for a nice cold beer and the portobello sandwich while waiting for my flight!This restaurant feels very *Pittsburgh* on the inside.I never would have expected to put green apples in a grilled cheese, but that was another delicious dish to eat. How creative!I almost wish I didn’t have to go the whole way to the airport in order to come back and eat here haha!

Our flight was delayed, leaving us enough time to eat dinner before boarding. We didn’t want to venture too far from our gate and this was one of two close restaurants with table seating. The restaurant had a fun vibe and offered enough tables for a small crowd with some bar seating as well.We ordered 2 pork nachos and a portobello mushroom burger. The food was good. The nachos could have used more topping to nacho ratio as both dishes had left over chips with no toppings. The mushroom sandwich was delicious, but the mushroom was thin and not very meaty, so the bun to topping ratio was heavy on the bun and didn’t leave me filled.Overall the taste was good, service was great, and the timing of ordering food to the time it was on the table wasn’t too long. I would have preferred more substance with our meals (more pork and toppings with the chips, a larger mushroom with the portobello sandwich).I’d still recommend the food here though. The prices weren’t too overpriced and pretty standard for airport food.
