I'm writing to share my experience at the Edgewood store. The staff is very helpful, and the store layout is quite good. However, there is a significant issue that I've noticed, which seems to be common in many stores: the placement of Zuma soaps. They are positioned near the ventilation system, which makes it difficult to access the pharmacy. The scent of the soap is overpowering, and if you have allergies, you migh... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Giant Eagle Bakery:
they never have enough help. Long lines because no cash and constantly sell out items. I'm just going there because I'm near my house. with the price of food they may pay people more money and help. aldi can do it and pay her folks. I'm sure that would run much better on fox chapel or north hills. the owner obviously does not care View all feedback.
This Giant Eagle does more than a decent job stocking items and having pleasant cashiers. Tonight, a Tuesday at 7pm, there are no lines to checkout. WHAAA??? OK. THAT never happens. A very nice cashier even called me over to her lane and was so incredibly nice, telling me to leave heavy items in the cart and she would come around to scan and making sure at the end of my transaction I had pulled all the bags of items from the carousel. And during this COVID pandemic tonight I found paper products (TP, paper towels) in plenty supply. And I picked up the last 2 GE brand hand soaps for 1.00 each. This is my preferred GE location on the way home from work. Kennywood is closer to home but produce is not as fresh. And. As with all GE locales, masks are mandatory with guards at the entrance to enforce and clean carts are inside the store and one way aisles are the way...
Poor poor bakery service walked in at 8:55 pm on 5/23/19 and staff member said he could not put a name on a cake because it would put him into overtime, poor customer service
Hands down one of the best I've seen, clean, stocked, and the deli and bakery are fantastic.
Very convenient, they usually carry the things that I need for when I need to grab something on the flay.
A little understaffed but they have a lot of groceries. Be ready to wait in line to check out though. Since the update and addition of numerous self-checkout lanes, (early 2024-ish), it's better. If you like self-checkout; I do. There're generally a couple lanes free. Also with the plastic bag ban in effect now in Edgewood, there's no longer blue bags dancing around in the wind like that scene from American Beauty. People are carrying a few reusable bags around with them nowadays and Giant Eagle hands them out for free. I hope folks are re-using them at least several times. They don't seem to wear out that quickly.
