Nestled in Pittsburgh's bustling Strip District, this coffee shop offers a diverse selection of in-house roasted coffee and flavored creations, making it a favorite for caffeine aficionados. While the ambiance is inviting and the aroma of coffee tantalizing, the quality of some premium offerings, such as Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain, has disappointed some patrons, leading to mixed reviews on taste. The service can be inconsistent, with complaints about incorrect orders, yet many appreciate the friendly staff and generous beverage sizes. Overall, this shop appeals to a wide range of coffee lovers, though the experience can vary significantly.

Excellent coffee and even better company. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The coffee is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. Overall, the perfect place to enjoy daily interactions with the nicest people in town. View all feedback.

What Krissy Pavelson dislikes about Allegheny Coffee Tea Exchange:
The most expensive coffee grounds, $50 a pound Kona and Blue Mountain, were weak and disgusting. We drive here from out of state every year just for the unique grounds, so we were very excited to try the best options they had. After brewing them a French press, percolator, and even drip, The Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain were consistently weak, bland and acidic. Dollar store or gas station coffee would have tasted... I got the sun chai and it was perfect! Whether you like decaf, or regular or tea or honey they will have just what you’re looking for. From the top shelf Kona coffee to Costa Rica blends hard to find in the states they have it all. The smell is worth walking in for! Go here for your beverage and then pop around the corner for Pamela’s diner!

This is my favorite spots to pick up coffee beans. You can find a variety of beans representing many of the best growing regions throughout South America and Africa. Besides having great some truly quality beans, Allegheny Coffee Tea also offers a handful of different nitro brews which are absolutely delicious. Staff is polite, knowledgable, and always patiently humor my nerdy inquisitions!
