Description

Nestled in downtown Pittsburgh, Apollo Café is generating buzz for its affordable prices and cozy atmosphere. Diners rave about the generous portions, like the delicious potato hash and the enticing chicken pot pie soup. However, not all experiences are positive; some guests report subpar dishes, with a breakfast steak described as gristly and poorly seasoned. Although service is often noted as friendly and welcoming, criticisms have surfaced regarding the owner’s demeanor. While the café suits those seeking budget-friendly meals, it may not be the ideal spot for a romantic date. Cash payment is required, enhancing its quaint diner charm.

Loved the relaxed environment. The staff were helpful and friendly. Fast service. CASH ONLY (but they have an ATM in case you forget).

We really enjoyed our Mediterranean meals, and there are great options for breakfast and lunch available all day!

For locals in Pittsburgh, this is the top spot for breakfast in the city! It's a hidden gem—definitely try the chicken pot pie soup for lunch; it's absolutely delicious! I always stop by when I'm running errands in town, and the prices are very reasonable. Plus, the portion sizes are great!

The food was absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and quick, and the prices were very reasonable. It's conveniently located right next to the Even Hotel on Forbes Avenue. Please note that they only accept cash. It was so good that we ended up visiting twice during our stay in Pittsburgh!

Great diner with super friendly and helpful staff! Enjoyed a peaceful morning and a generously portioned breakfast for a great price. Space is small but everything feels cozy and chill here- hope to come back sometime! Oatmeal was amazing and so were the omelettes
