The food and the service were both excellent. the personal was appropriately attentive and treated us as if we were frequent quests and not just someone who cam... read more The food and the service were both excellent. the personal was appropriately attentive and treated us as if we were frequent quests and not just someone who came for a special occasion. altius is too pricy for my budget to qualify as eating every day. but if they have an opportunity, a splurge worth, altius is a good choice and they will not come away feel them overpaid.

I have nothing negative to say about the service or the ambiente. the placement of our table (for 7) was behind a heavy curtain over the door. it was out in the... read more I have nothing negative to say about the service or the ambiente. the placement of our table (for 7) was behind a heavy curtain over the door. it was out in the 20s and we were freezing for most of the time when the people were in and out of the door. I myself and another guest have previously densed, and both agreed to the cocktails and extras of the popcorn, suppe and brot are large, but the quality of some of the food was not. 3 of us had the fish especially, and it was a small part and unluster for the price that had to be sent back because it was over, and the desert seemed not fresh. they determine small portions around. they had a nice job that recognized a birthday that they recognized before the time and again the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I was grateful that when I made a birthday reservation and accidentally put the wrong number of diners, (apparently the system defaults to 2 and I forgot that),... read more I was grateful that when I made a birthday reservation and accidentally put the wrong number of diners, (apparently the system defaults to 2 and I forgot that), the restaurant pivoted and was generously able to accommodate our party. The buratta, gaspacho and foccacia were all excellent as were the filets. The halibut special, however, was over cooked and the broccolini was undercooked, but the view is excellent.
