Food was ok.... I have the cheeseburger and fries, expected a homemade burger patty instead of a frozen patty for the price. Buns were cold on a hot patty which wasn't View all feedback.
What Lasondra Fields doesn't like about Discovery Cafe At Callaway Gardens:
It was nice to eat on the lake, but it was more of a choice of convenience. The food was just okay and incredibly overpriced, but it beat leaving the park and trying to find something else then having to come back. View all feedback.
Not the best experience. I’ve stayed at Callaway Gardens many times. Every time at the cottages with family. I was there for fantasy in lights. As some have mentioned. Had issues with getting tickets for the correct days for Callaway garrdens. Made reservations online only to later discover wrong days for fantasy in lights. Had issues getting reservation desk to answer the phone. Spoke to them 3 times about fixing my days. They would tell me. The new tickets would be emailed to me. But it would not happened. Got them corrected on the 4th time Check in was horrible. I think the line had over 60 guess waiting. The cottages looked a bit dated The Christmas tent was nothing like I remember. From past time. Very few vendors. This is not the king of service I remembered from this place. And staying at the cottages is not cheap, I expected better service
I haven't even been yet, so can't comment on the physical resort but I can tell you that the reservation process is BROKEN. It is very very difficult to get a person on the phone and when I have, they have screwed up the reservation and tickets. This started last November when we got rooms/tickets for the Festival of Lights. They gave us tickets that were not even for the days we were going to be there. Took forever to get through to a person to get that resolved and it was never actually resolved they said they would address it when I got to the resort. 2 days before we were scheudled to go, I got COVID and called to cancel. I was told you CANNOT cancel! It is only possible to move the reservations up to 60 days. I was flabbergasted what would I see in the middle of February????? She then reluctantly told me, they would allow me to move the reservations one more time only. That puts me into April when spring flowers are blooming so OK. Its now February and I am trying to move the reservations to the end of March and do you think I can get in touch with anyone at Callaway Gardens. It goes to voicemail immediately. Really??? These rooms are $180/night during the week and this is the kind of customer service the resort offers? More to follow......
I booked a trip for my parents. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the lodge, the Piedmont restaurant, the Festival of Lights and the spa. They said they definitely want to go back in the Spring. Special shout out to Angela Doggett in guest services who was extremely helpful in helping me organize this remotely and changing plans when there was an illness prior to the original booking. She was so patient and went out of her way to help. Nothing but great things to say about Calloway.
Fantasy of Lights is a great experience fun for the whole family We recommend riding trolly but you can drive your own car on self tour Admission gets you in all the park so get there early. Plenty of hot chocolate
From the moment you enter the Gardens and their beautiful Fantasy in Lights, it is magical. The walking tour and driving tour gives you an opportunity to go back in time to your childhood. We enjoyed seeing the families and their children laugh in delight over the sleigh and Santa Village. I would recommend eating a delicious country meal at the Country Store and not in the park. If you are there for an entire day visit the Chapel and walk Robin Lake.
