Description

A lively, family-friendly 1950s diner in Pigeon Forge charms visitors with nostalgic decor, classic cars, 50s music and themed performers. Generous portions—from breakfast biscuits and gravy to towering burgers, milkshakes and shareable banana splits—earn praise, as does standout coffee and attentive staff. Occasional slow service and uneven dish consistency have been reported, but strong management, pleasant ambiance and extras like a gift shop and military discount make it a must-visit for tourists, families and nostalgia seekers.

This was our first visit to the Sunliner, and I thought it would be a fun place for the family with decent food. It turned out to be so much more than that! The staff were fantastic, and the atmosphere felt like it was straight out of a movie. As parents, we know the food is good when our kids clean their plates. We will definitely be returning!

We visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday during our trip to P.F. Our teenage son and daughter are huge fans of diner-themed spots, and after reading several reviews, we were eager to try it out. It certainly lived up to our expectations! Our server was friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall experience. We loved the '50s music playing in the background and the dancers—it created such a fun atmosphere! The classic cars displayed in the restaurant were a charming addition as well. As for the food, it was all delicious! I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans, and it was fantastic! This meal truly made our family trip unforgettable. I highly recommend this place!

This restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside. We were seated promptly, and our server, Alleen, was incredibly attentive and energetic. She offered excellent suggestions for our meals. The portion sizes are generous, and the milkshakes are delicious, topped with a waffle. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is cool, and it’s definitely a place worth visiting.

I’ll begin with the most striking element: the atmosphere is truly amazing. The owners have clearly put effort into recreating a nostalgic diner vibe, with attention to detail in the lighting, colors, bar stools, and waitress uniforms, along with two vintage cars cleverly turned into tables. Just walking in brings a smile to your face. The waitstaff were friendly, efficient, and professional, fitting seamlessly into the environment. The portion sizes were quite generous, and I appreciate that breakfast is served all day. We were particularly impressed when they topped an old-fashioned milkshake with a waffle and whipped cream. My husband enjoyed his Reuben sandwich, and we also tried the waffles, which were tasty but could have used a bit more flavor (though the syrup helped with that). I found that the cost of a hearty meal at this diner was comparable to a few nearby places, but I certainly got more food for my money here.
