Classic steakhouse, with solid, good food. Drinks could have been a little stronger, especially since the Manhattans I got were short on the pours. I don't like that the smoking area is accessible via a door near the bar and the ugly smoke is allowed toseep inside. Was there too early this time for the live entertainment .at least they used to have live entertainment .. and youhave to order an entree AND ask for the relish tray now if you want it. The menu says it is included with entree, but thebartender fought me on that point until I showed him what it said on the menu I had .. .. Expensive, but heck, what isn'texpensive these days ... Make sure you have cash for mandatory valet parking on site.
Excellent flavors and portions. Service was good but only thing is they didn't update menus and still show garnishes as complimentary but they actually charge now. The manager made it up to me by giving us a free dessert. It was my first visit sothat part was a bummer but the dessert definitely made up for it. Great regulars that go there... we met a few and now made newfriends. Over all great experience and will definitely be returning!
This place was way better than you’d think looking from the outside! We go out just about every other weekend for date night, and I scrolled past this spot for months. Momma always said, “Don’t judge a book by its cover” and that’s some goodadvice! The service was great! Our waitress and her helpers were so friendly and personable! Our food was delicious! We gotthe Calamari… the lemon butter sauce was quite good, a bit heavy for me, but Matt liked it! All of our cocktails were tastytoo… refreshing and flavorful. Yeah atmosphere is perfect for date night, they also had some live music which I alwaysappreciate! We got some complimentary cheesy garlic bread which was really yummy! For the mains… I got the duck and it wasDevine! I ate about half of it and the other half for lunch the next day, it was still good! The bone in ribeye was perfectlycooked! We saved about half of it for a second meal. For dessert we got the cheesecake. It was light and fluffy, worth everycalorie lol
Cozy and romantic. Delicious margaritas and martinis. The filet mignon black pepper steak was delicious. The mash potatoes melt in your mouth. The creamed corn was delightful. The mac cheese was scrumptious
Without a doubt one of the finer restaurants in the Los Angeles area. Dal Rae has maintained high quality food exceptional service for the past 6 decades that I have personally observed. However some of the unique qualities have fallen by the wayside. They no longer do the wilted spinach salad at table side. The unique service was provided by the owner and the tradition was carried on by his sons. This along with the elimination of the relish tray made them stand out from the crowded restaurant scene. The initial reason for the elimination of the table side salad elimination was COVID that train left the station and having seen a multitude of corporations using that excuse for service cuts leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I do feel most loyal customers like myself would not mind a price increase to see this service revived. In any event not enough reason to stop patronizing my favorite restaurant in the LA basin.
