Description

Tucked into Roosevelt Row, Taco Boy dishes up flavorful, affordable tacos—especially standout barbacoa—backed by a well-stocked salsa bar, bottled beer and quick service. Its casual, authentic vibe and lively soundtrack attract locals and visitors alike, with efficient takeout and a pleasant patio. Expect crowds, cramped seating, occasional service or cleanliness lapses, and limited parking; best for quick, bold-flavored meals during the lunch rush.

So after a ton of hype on my Instagram feed and a friend that kept telling me it was the best tacos he 's ever had in AZ....I finally made it into Taco Boys. Overall some decent tacos at an okay price. The shocker was the barbacoa, that meat was the mostdelicious of all. Now I 'm all about carne asada and my wife prefers carnitas. We actually left the barbacoa for last sinceneither of us really like it but decided to try it because we wanted to try an assortment of their food. The carne asada andcarnitas (same with the chicken) were just okay so that kind of put a damper on the excitement. Beans were good and the salsabar was fully stocked and had a great assortment. Now the only issue I had was parking. This building is on a corner and shareshalf of that building with Jimmy John 's. In this parking lot theres probably only 12 spots, and additional 2 for handicap and 3for Jimmy John 's. I had to circle the lot 3 times hoping someone would leave...no one did. Ended up about a 1/4 mile down thestreet with a parking meter spot. Meanwhile there are people illegally parking in that lot and temporarily parking in thehandicap parking spots ????. Overall PARKING SUCKS! First impressions walking into the taco boys restaurant feels like Ta Carbonrestaurant. Like a carbon copy,I don 't know there history but kinda feels like they ripped off their style. Only big differenceis stickers plastered on the wall and super loud music at the counter. Like yelling the order because the music is blastingright next to where you order. Overall score would be a 3.5.

???? Authentic vibe in this taco shop with the Spanish shows on TV and the majority of the customers were speaking Spanish when we were there. ???? Ordered a variety of tacos and quesadillas: Asada, Barbacoa, pastor, and Mexican cokes. ???? The salsa barwas the most impressive. All the Salsas tasted delicious! We love all the pickled onions, cucumber, onion con cilantro, andeverything on that fresh salsa bar. ???? lots of meat on all the tacos however, they didn?t taste as good as we hope they turnout, it was still pretty decent 4/5. ???? Love the vibe, salsa bar, lots of meats on the tacos. However, Limited parking spaceavailability is a problem.

This place is legit for some tacos. If you're in downtown Phoenix and hungry, this is definitely a must stop place. Not a lot of parking and can get very busy quickly. We had the pastor and asada, very very good!!! Highly recommend the pastor, justsaying

My first time visiting the Taco Boys. We were in Phoenix and wanted some mexican food and some authenticity. We were not dissapointed. We had the Asada Tacos and they were great. We were given extra shells to compensate for the large amount of meat that we were given and the excess that would fall onto our plates. The fixings bar had everything you could want. My wife states not to add the red sauce unless you want your mouth on fire. It was spicey. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and would love to visit again on another trip.
