Review of Thomas at the 75th Avenue location: The service here surpassed even that of Scottsdale! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by not just one, but two servers, along with attentive management. As individuals with experience in the service industry, both seasoned and newcomers, we were truly impressed!
We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 and there was only one couple ahead of us. There were 9 open tables but we were told there was a one hour wait. It wasn't very busy, so we wondered why we were left waiting. Perhaps there was a staff shortage due to the current circumstances. Despite the slow service, the staff at the door was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Once we were seated, the serving staff was very nice and the food came quickly. However, the kitchen staff was slow and our table was filling up with dirty plates. My burger was falling apart, but it was still tasty. Unfortunately, we encountered a roach in the bathroom and the lime in my drink was not fresh. I was considering giving the restaurant 4 stars until these incidents. Hopefully, the restaurant can find solutions to their staffing issues. Finally, I would like to thank the hardworking staff for their efforts.
While visiting town for business, I opted for delivery from Chili's Grill for dinner. I usually pick Chili's because their menu offers a wide variety of options, the service is top-notch, and the food is always tasty. Unfortunately, this time my order from Jodi M. was disappointing. The box arrived unsealed, and the Caribbean salad I ordered didn’t resemble what I had expected. This experience was a clear letdown in terms of service.
I went to the restaurant yesterday with a party of seven, but the curly-haired guy with glasses at the front refused to seat us because only five members of our group were present. Before I had a chance to call the manager, he seated another party that was still waiting for their group. This seemed inconsistent, so I decided to escalate the matter by contacting the manager, who had a boyish haircut. Unfortunately, she approached the situation in an extremely irate manner and began talking over me, even getting in my face as if she wanted to start a fight. She called me a liar, which was quite disheartening as a customer—I ended up having to deescalate the situation myself. This was a clear indication of poor management on her part. The entire drama was unnecessary: they claimed they couldn't seat us because not all of our party was there, yet they seated another party regardless. It was apparent that their "policy" was inconsistent and lacked accountability. On a positive note, our server was fantastic, and I want to give her credit for her excellent service!
