Description

Nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, this hotel restaurant presents a mixed bag of dining experiences. While the modern decor creates a swanky atmosphere, service can be slow and inconsistent. Some diners praise the fresh, simple dishes like duck wings and vibrant salads, while others find staple items, such as tomato bisque and gnocchi, underwhelming. The brunch menu receives accolades for its variety and flavor, enhancing its appeal for both locals and tourists. Overall, despite a few standout dishes and attentive staff, many agree that guests might be better served exploring other culinary options in the city.

We had a lovely meal, and the service from our waiter and the manager was exceptional. It was a delightful experience, and the food was excellent.

We ate breakfast here on a Sunday (my husband, my 7 year old son and me). We all loved the food and the service was fantastic.

Went at lunch. We were 1 of 2 other tables. Our server seemed uninterested from the initial greet. Never brought us our wine until the manager stopped over to check on us, and we mentioned we were waiting for drinks. We were never offered water refills or small plates for sharing our apps. We waited with an empty table for a very long time before we made eye contact and asked our server for the check. The food was great, the service was terrible.

Wow--I was really impressed with Square 1682. I've stayed in the hotel, the Kimpton Palomar, multiple times, but I haven't ever eaten at the restaurant. Now that there's a fee for a room, but which comes with a $20 credit for the restaurant, I tried it for breakfast, and I have to say, it was one of the best restaurant breakfasts I've had in a long time--particularly the hash browns, which I often don't like at places. The service was fantastic as well, from the host who was about the nicest person ever to the wonderful server. I would go back, even without the hotel credit!
