Was Anonym at Jun a mag?
Tucked away in a Perth laneway. Lovely staff, great service. Not many BYO around anymore…..another bonus. Love the way it reminded me of Japan. Down the stairs, to see what awaits. We ordered a variety of dishes to share.Loved the Tofu dish, sashimi was fresh,...gyozas were juicy and well cooked. Finished with Sake….. Nice way to enjoy a cold, wet winters night. What Anonym dislikes about Jun:
I had two seperate recommendations to come to this restaurant, from work colleagues who are local. So came with high expectations. Unfortunately when I found the restaurant I was greeted by baby chairs stacked in the entrance and a tired looking interior. I have generally...no issues with decor if the food is good. Half the menu was not being offered this night and I almost decided to try another day. The food was on... View all feedback.

Whenever they go down the stairs at the jun, its so authentic experience it can easily forget that they are not really in a izakaya somewhere in japan. I've been here longer than I remember and I'm always excited when I go, like the many people I brought with me about the years. had really luck in perth such a big little business as jun

This restaurant on Hay Street in the CBD is a hidden gem. The waitstaff are very friendly and polite. The highlight of the menu is the tasty spicy karaage. It is perfectly battered, with a hint of spice and not greasy at all. The portions are also very generous. If you decide to have lunch here, be prepared for a food coma afterwards.

I had been wanting to try this hidden restaurant for dinner for quite some time, so I went with my family last night. We were seated immediately and the service was attentive. The chicken karaage is a must-try! The yakitori and other grilled skewer items had a delicious charred taste. However, you may need to be patient as the food takes some time to be prepared. While the food was good, I found the prices to be a bit high given the decor of the restaurant. I recommend that they consider updating the interior for a better overall experience.
