Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges - Feedback
Reviews
Was Eric C at Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges a mag?
Very nice hotel distributed in several houses. Classified historic monument. Stairs a little steep to access certain rooms. Watch the big suitcases. Sound insulation to see again, even if the hotel is quiet. You can hear the water descents (at least in the room where I was). Excellent restaurant. View all feedback.
What AnthonyFRBE dislikes about Hostellerie du Vieux Pérouges:
DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL, cheese is supermarket standard and the planche de charcuterie too, it is very expensive for the quality of food and quantity. We paid 14€ for 4 small piece of cheese that you could buy for about 2 euros in a supermarket. Believe us we are from the region and the quality and quantity is WELL BELOW average for a price above average. View all feedback.

Thirty years ago, my wife and I went to this establishment on the same date to celebrate our 5th anniversary. It was a memory that stayed in our memory. This place hasn't changed since, and I can say I've made some trips. I think we're going to go back very quickly. Super hotel, great meals and most charming staff. Thanks again for your welcome and stay what you are.
A very pleasant weekend, a great welcome. An irreproachable hotel and staff always available to guests. A total change of view
This may not be the cheapest place available at Perouges; we are sure glad that we went. The setting, the service and above all, the food they serve is well cooked as it should be adequately proportioned. The tastes were worth the prices and definitely worth visiting! For all taste buds adventurers, the medieval aperitive wine macerated with spices honey is a pleasant enjoyable drink

Very good table and pleasant service in a rustic but refined setting, to be recommended: the panacea of Peruges: omelette rolled with bits and mushrooms, dotted with a shrimp backs. A high-end accessible in a place and an exceptional medieval setting

Out of time. The village is at you in the morning before the arrival of the tourists for the day and also in the evening after 5:30pm... Ostellerie is also frozen in time and that's exactly what we expect to find on the spot. The concept of the room in the house of St Georges, outside the hospital building, gives an impression of being more immersed in the village.
We were seven pers for lunch in this traditional hotel-restaurant with a medieval setting. The hotel offers fresh and quality products. Meat and fish are tender and mellow. The bite sauce is composed of whole bits. The gratin dish was delicious, just like desserts. It's a very nice gustative surprise! I recommend this address for lovers of good French cuisine

We stopped in here for the famous Perouges pie and coffee at the end of a tour. I don't think they were really open yet, but our tour guide talked to them and we were served. The pie was ok (a thin sweet roll crust ... I'm guessing based on my own baking experience ... with caramelized sugar on top) and fun to eat for the historical interest. But the coffee! I have never had such a good cup of coffee in my life. I drank it like it was a glass of water! I would go back again for the coffee alone. With cream.
We have the most delicious steak with mushroom cream sauce and potatoes au gratin. We aren't in the area any more but are still thinking about that delicious meal 3 days later. It was easily the most delicious meal of the year. And we felt at a fair price.
Beautiful location and food! We’ve been during one day trip from Lyon: Perouge is an incredible Medioeval town and this restaurant in the main square is incredible. Highly recommended.
This is such a lovely place! To sit on a cold November day by a roaring huge log fire, greeted by a friendly dog, supping coffee and eating a freshly made local galette be jealous and go yourself!!
