I don't think they were really open yet, but our tour guide talked to them and we were served. The pie was ok (a thin sweet roll crust ... I'm guessing based on my own baking experience ... with caramelized sugar on top) and fun to eat for the historical interest. But the coffee! I have never had such a good cup of coffee in my life. I drank it like it was a glass of water! I would go back again for the coffee alone. With cream.

We aren't in the area any more but are still thinking about that delicious meal 3 days later. It was easily the most delicious meal of the year. And we felt at a fair price.

The parsnip velouté as a starter was delightful, followed by quince paste and meringues to accompany the coffee. Beautiful, traditional cuisine. Impeccable service with smiling and professional staff. The charming little headdresses enhance the authenticity of this exceptional, history-laden establishment.
