Gurnard's Head - Penzance

Great pub. Lovely interior and known for food. Huge beer garden. The lady behind the bar made me the nicest Virgin Mary I've had in years. Very friendly and high quality service. Recommended

After collecting customers who stayed there. They could not have given Gurnard's Head the best review I have ever heard. The accommodation was immaculate and exceptionally well presented. This place has such charm and personality. The quality of food and service would be on par with any 5-star restaurant. Fantastic choice for fish lovers.

We were a party of 4 who went to the Gurnard's Head for lunch. They had 2 menus to choose from, either the standard menu or the lunchtime menu which was 2 courses for £20 or 3 for a bit more (sorry I can't remember how much the 3 courses were). The food on both menus was hard to choose from as it all sounded delicious. I had the 2 courses for £20 and chose broccoli and Stilton soup which was the best I've had anywhere, and I had the beef with cauliflower gratin, bubble and squeak and Yorkshire pudding for my main. Everyone in the party thoroughly enjoyed all their food and the portion sizes were generous! We wanted puddings but were too full for any unfortunately. The service was friendly and staff were welcoming. We were not rushed with our food which was nice, as so often restaurants are quick to get your food out and ready for another cover, but this was much more relaxed dining. It was popular so I would recommend booking. We will be back for more delicious food.

Great pub with lovely beer, and quality chips. The rest of the food looked great, but alas we did not partake. My only critique would be that they did not stock pork scratchings. Definitely worth the visit for the beer garden alone!

Stayed here for just one night for a friends birthday. The staff are outstanding, so helpful and accommodating. We were made to feel really welcome. The food was also excellent modern European with lots of fresh fish. Rooms also very clean a comfortable.
