The young woman with brown hair and tattoos on her arms at Pilot Travel Center truly stood out for her exceptional customer service. She was one of the most helpful and genuine staff members I've encountered in a long time. Her dedication impressed me so much that I felt compelled to leave a review. I hope her positive attitude and honesty are recognized and appreciated because she went above and beyond. When I accidentally ordered the wrong item from the menu, she refused to let me settle for the mistake and promptly remade my sandwich. She was also very friendly and kindly walked me and my purchases out to my car to save me an extra trip. Thank you!
I arrived at Pilot Travel Center at 5:30 AM hoping for a friendly greeting, but instead was met with a curt "SIGN SIGN?... SWIPE?" When a white customer came in right after me, the server’s demeanor instantly changed to a cheerful "GOOD MORNING, HOW ARE YOU?" The difference in treatment was impossible to overlook, especially as a Black customer. It’s disappointing to consider spending over $500 of my hard-earned money only to be met with rudeness that feels personal. This experience clearly shows that racism still exists, but I’m determined to keep speaking out against it!
This is my go-to rest stop halfway between my home and my family’s. The store is spotless and offers a wide variety of items, from practical to fun. The bathrooms are clean, and there are showers and laundry facilities available. There’s a great selection of food options, and the McDonald’s attached is always clean and quick. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
I paid for parking, but when I got there, all the spaces were full. I was told I could go inside for a refund, but their "policy" is not to ask those who haven't paid to move. What on earth! I spent $17 on parking, yet I still couldn't find a spot?! What's the point of having paid parking if it doesn't even work?
The restaurant features a large parking lot that can accommodate big trucks, offering plenty of paid parking options along with easy access to free parking. The coffee was hot and fresh. While there are plenty of diesel lanes available, the satellite pump was unfortunately out of order during my visit. Access to Highway 71 is straightforward. Overall, I have no major complaints about my experience.
