Blackbird Bakery in Pemberton truly lives up to its reputation! Alongside many glowing online reviews, I can personally vouch for the high quality of their offerings. During my last visit, I had the pleasure of trying their danish, and they were simply awesome. A perfect blend of flaky pastry and delicious filling. For those in or passing through Pemberton, this bakery is a must-visit!
During covid I would drive all the way from Vancouver for the almond croissant.Something changed... And it wasn't good. I've tried the almond croissant 3 times in the last year and it is nowhere near as good as it used to be.It is not croissant like. When once it used to be flakey and crunchy, biting into the ones made these days is like eating soggy bread. I'm very disappointed but I will also save a lot of time and gas sticking to better bakeries in the Vancouver area for croissants.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We really enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant, along with the pastries and coffee. The service was prompt, and the staff were incredibly friendly.
Small cozy cafe located at the heart of Pemberton with decent coffee average sandwiches. Their sandwiches used to be better, but I feel like they are not as goof as they used to be. However, I still like their coffee, and their tables inside the restaurants are very comfortable outside benches are cozy peaceful. The staff is friendly as always :
Yet another Lonely Planet review led us here, lured by the cinnamon buns. We had left Whistler for Kamloops en route to Jasper; Pemberton was a good stopping point. Anyone else doing that route, must stop at Nairn falls, not long out of Whistler. Its a peaceful, well marked trail along the river to magnificent falls. Hats of to BC for the first class information boards at the falls explaining the extraordinary geology for people like me with untrained eyes. And then we founf Blackbird bakery the aromas drew us in. Alas, the very person before us (in a looooong queue) got the last one! He was lucky to leave that place intact.....but we were very satisfied with a lovely apple strudel and a panini. The best part, was sitting outside in the morning sunshine with a steaming mug of coffee. Stay a while in Pemberton because its a lovely town and there are meadows that people say you should take time to visit, but we only got so far as time was limited and we saw lots of farms offering fresh produce with honesty boxes, beautifully displayed.
