I've loved this place for years! Delicious lunch every time. The fried snapper is phenomenal. I just like veggie having meals. Makkaroni and cheese are some of the best in town. This is not a hipster, vegan, gluten-free, craft beer place. Sarris revolves around quality and consistency and damn good food. View all feedback.
What Malcolm Dodson dislikes about Sarris Cafe:
My brother and sister from out of town were visiting me. Our food was good but the restrooms are nasty. After we ate we all utilized the restrooms. Pungent TT smell in the men's room. The partitions are rusted from the TT. Just not clean at all. My sister said that the women's was nasty too. I'm sure the kitchen isn't pristine either. I didn't see a health department rating. We won't be back. It was very disappointin... View all feedback.
The food was excellent. The only downside was the service. I ordered the Baked Grouper with tomatoes and feta, along with a side of Squash Casserole, both of which were delicious. I believe I also had some greens, although I'm not entirely sure.
Sarris Cafe is a charming family-run restaurant that offers a meat and three menu with a Greek twist. The cafeteria-style setup allows customers to order their food, with daily specials available. The owners are tech-savvy and post specials on Facebook regularly. The staff were friendly and generous, even giving my father an extra corn muffin when they noticed he had ordered beans and greens. My mother and I enjoyed a variety of delicious vegetable dishes, including squash casserole, mac and cheese, yams, roasted okra, potatoes and gravy, and yeast rolls. The squash casserole was particularly tasty, with a nice squash and onion flavor. The mac and cheese had a great cheddar taste and perfect texture. The house-made yeast rolls were also a hit. The roasted okra was flavorful and well-cooked. The only disappointment was the potatoes, which could have been better. My father had the fried snapper with pinto beans and collard greens and enjoyed it all. My mother found the pintos too salty, but I liked the flavor. The corn muffin was a bit dry, but the fried snapper was crispy and delicious. Overall, we all agreed that we would happily return to Sarris Cafe if we were in the area again.
