This restaurant is fantastic for an incredibly affordable and tasty meal. It's part market and part eatery. My wife, who is from Peru, had the chance to try Ecuadorian cuisine for the first time here, and she absolutely loved it. Having visited Ecuador myself, I can confirm that the food here is both delicious and authentic. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Peekskill!
This restaurant is truly exceptional. While I can't comment on the other dishes, what I had was absolutely FANTASTIC! I enjoyed a fillet of fish served with rice, beans, pickled onions, and baked plantains. I went up to the counter and ordered the fish with all the sides, particularly the beans, which looked irresistible. They tasted just as incredible as they looked, along with everything else. I paired my meal with sparkling water sourced from the Andes mountain springs, and I couldn't help but wonder how I discovered this gem in Peekskill. Calvin Trillin would definitely appreciate this spot!
Upon entering, the place predominantly resembles a grocery store. However, your attention is soon drawn to the hot meals displayed at the register, and further back, you'll find a dining area. I stopped by for a quick lunch to take out. The food is simple, but it's tough to find a deal that offers this much quantity at such a low price. It's the kind of hearty fare you'd crave after a long day of work—satisfying and filling. This is a classic hidden gem where regulars might feel a sense of familiarity, even if you're just passing through from out of state.
