Service and atmosphere is average and the flavors don’t quite hit the marks. The Clams and Donuts were at least unique and were a favorite of the night. The signature bone broth and noodles were fine, but not flavorful enough to be called a signature. The outdoor seating isn’t quite up to par. Overall a fine meal, just lacking in a few departments. What Jenna RxTravelBug doesn't like about Bone Kettle:
Was so excited to finally try this place! But personally think this place is overrated for the priceWhat we got: garlic noodles w/ crispy prawns, bone marrow, oxtail dumplings, prime top sirloin noodles, drinks (calamansi margarita, mandarin sour) would say all dishes were good but none were exceptional. Would get oxtail dumplings and bone marrow if I came back both drinks were not very strong? Flavor was just ok. Wo... View all feedback.
This place has a very particular taste. We usually like anything, but this meal was nowhere near good. We ordered oxtail dumplings, ube gnocchi, bone marrow, and a bone broth ramen with brisket and one with steak. The oxtail dumplings were sour and fell apart when trying to pick them up. We returned it to the kitchen after one bite. This place automatically takes 20% from any table, no matter how many people. Which is great and all but don’t expect them to take food off your bill if you don’t like it because it’s terrible. The gnocchi also had a similar sour taste and the texture of the dish was off. The bone marrow is not worth the hype. The entire dish had no flavor. Maybe we got a bad one but I was assuming there to be SOME kind of taste. It was basically just eating fat that had no flavor. Lastly, the ramen. Where to begin… It was a glorified watered down chicken noodle soup. That’s what the broth tasted like. The noodles were from a packet of ramen, nothing special about it at all. It was served with plastic chopsticks which were not the best for grip. 0/10 do not recommend. This place was more Asian rather than Asian Fusion. It is definitely an acquired taste. We will not be back.
Great first time experience for me. From the greeting of the hostess to the end of our dinner, Their customer service was wonderful. Our orders were perfectly timed as not a lot of restaurants can do in that, especially on a Friday night. I Highly recommend Bone Kettle if asian fusion is your thing.
I got the crispy tempeh bone broth. It was so good, veggies were crunchy and the vegan broth was superb. I loved the baby corn and carrots. It didn’t taste different from the beef broth when I compared another family member’s broth to mine. The broth was at the perfect temperature, made me a bit sweaty while having it.
Our 1st time here my sister was in town from the bay area so family outing in Pasadena, cal 1st stop here then we went to get some ice cream and then walked ? the food off ? #demeirjonez
Went this weekend for brunch and it exceeded expectations! First of all, the restaurant is beautifully appointed and has a very modern and semi-minimalist feel. My friend had the mocktail (delicious) and I had a really refreshing iced coffee. We ordered lumpia and bone marrow for the table; both soooo delicious. I ordered the oxtail hash which was really good and my friend ordered the omelet, which she said she really enjoyed. The only minor issue is that my entree arrived about 5 minutes before my friend's meal, but everything else was otherwise wonderful. Very attentive, yet-non-obtrusive service. I will definitely be going back to try the ube waffles.
