Great new fine dining chef if you have not been for a while it is worth a trip back. Lovely cosy atmosphere with pot belly fire and delicious rustic food, genourous portions. Welcoming and helpful staff and management. We go a couple of times a month now! View all feedback.
What Ricardo Osinski doesn't like about Brook Garden Restaurant:
We had a birthday for a table of ten. Someone ordered a "blue" steak and it was served "medium". When asked if it could be rectified the waitress said with attitude that the kitchen was closed! However she did return it and it was replaced. They couldn't wait for us to leave and we were not offered coffee or dessert. It was 10 o'clock and theManager complained that she had been on her feet all day. Maybe hospitality... View all feedback.
The Brook provides a wonderful dining experience on a peaceful evening by a brook. We chose to sit outside in the tree-lined garden, where we were promptly offered insect spray to protect us from mosquitoes. The menu offered a variety of options for all tastes, and our shared appetizers of snapper bites and pâté with warm bread were delicious. The Moroccan lamb and pork belly mains were both generously portioned and received with great enthusiasm, with the pork belly being especially praised as the best ever tasted. Overall, with great food, excellent service, and a reasonable bill, The Brook stands out as the best dining option in the hills. - DianneSawyers valley
This restaurant is really good! We were struggling to decide where to go for dinner, but By the Brook popped into our minds. We hadn't visited in a while, especially since new owners took over. The meal was fantastic! My partner had the reef beef, which was a hit. The steak was cooked perfectly medium, and the prawns were delicious. Despite being health conscious, I couldn't resist snacking on some of the amazing chips from my partner's plate. My veggie filo parcel salad was delightful, and I enjoyed every bite. The Camembert sauce was so rich, I can only hope it was low fat. We will definitely be returning to try the garlic prawns and bangers mash (they even have a veggie version with gravy!). The service was also fantastic.
In response to Baxter, it's possible that it was the waitress's first shift and she may not have known the brand of cider. It is common for larger establishments to get their products at a cheaper price than smaller businesses, which may result in higher prices. Instead of being so critical, especially during these difficult times with the recent fires and strong sense of community spirit, it would be more helpful to support small businesses and be understanding of the challenges they face in supporting families and their livelihoods.
Food was great. Very tasty and fantastic menu with a lot of variety. Nice ambience. Service was good too. A local gem!
Great atmosphere/staff. My wife and I were in early on a Saturday night. We had the log fire to ourselves. Staff knew the menu ingredients inside out (I have food allergies). Olives for entrée were fresh/locally made. You could tell they weren't bulk bought. We ordered the rabbit rogue, which was slightly over-cooked but still edible. The home-made gluten free cheesecake desserts were FANTASTIC. Highly recommend this Brook Garden.
