Quality is often praised, with standout creations like the Yellow Monk, though occasional lapses (brown or missing avocado) and uneven service have been reported. This restaurant is a fantastic spot for delicious sushi. I found the prices to be very reasonable.
I absolutely love this place! During my first visit, I was blown away by the Yellow Monk roll, which is a vegetarian option—who would have thought? It’s incredibly flavorful and delicious. On my second visit, we tried five rolls: Yellow Monk - 5; South of the Border - 5; Philly - 3.5 (a bit bland for my taste, but still good); Smooth Operator - 5; and Pacific Coast - I couldn’t sample it since it has eel, but my husband really enjoyed it. If you’re in town, you definitely need to check this place out. It’s a charming little shop connected to the restaurant across the street. Be sure to order online in advance to avoid waiting, as it can get quite busy.
The customer service at this restaurant is outstanding. It brings to mind that famous documentary about a sushi chef who personally welcomes one or two guests and prepares dishes right before their eyes. I always leave with a smile and some delicious sushi to enjoy.
The sushi was quite disappointing—definitely two thumbs down. The California roll was missing avocado and had very little cucumber, plus the avocado that was there was brown.
This restaurant originally set up shop in front of Parker Station's parking lot, but they've since relocated to focus on Indochine cuisine. Unfortunately, the customer service left much to be desired, as the staff seemed like a group of teenagers who didn’t want to be there. On a brighter note, the sushi was fantastic! The ability to create your own roll is a game-changer and very budget-friendly!
