Really nice to see this place back in the groove, and with a service upgrade I must say. The waiter was not only superbly professional and attentive but a fluent English speaker, which really helped us as we were there with non-Francophone family members. Oysters as great as ever, as were mussels, sole, wine…

This restaurant — the one on Avenue du Maine in Montparnasse — was absolutely everything we had hoped for in an authentic Parisienne dining experience. We had an 8 pm reservation (easy to make online, and we made it at 7 pm and at 8 the restaurant was more than half full; by 8:15 it was full — and every single person (except us! was French. Second, we were greeted very politely, seated immediately at one of the beautiful round banquettes near the window, and treated to a delicious amuse bouche promptly. This place is touted as serving some of the freshest fish in Paris (there are several fish tanks in the restaurant, with live lobsters and it certainly did not disappoint. My sole, served on a platter that the waitress deboned at the table, was exquisite. It was paired with a delicate butter sauce on the side that accented the fresh fish without overwhelming it. My partner had steak and lobster— and it, too, was excellent, and the lobster clearly North Atlantic and fresh. Both were served with delicious side sauces as well. The total tab, including two lemonades and two cokes, was just over 100 euros. We felt this was an extremely fair price for the quality, ambience, and experience. It was fun to see locals dining alone savoring a huge platter of shellfish as well as a large group of jovial Parisians next to us celebrating multiple birthdays with course after course of delicious seafood. We had wanted to get away from a restaurant full of American tourists (like us! , and we succeeded. Highly recommend!
